Redeemer Rough Royals - About

The Redeemer Rough Royals play outdoor tackle football and indoor touch football at the independent af3/YFL level of game, without an official university or college affiliation with the sport. This Redeemer U.C. Royals Football Club group, uniting both the Outdoor Tackle Football and Indoor Touch Football clubs, is open to students at Redeemer University College, has just passed its 25th year of operation and its supporters wishing to play football while still honouring God in doing it.

Games are played at Royals Field in Ancaster and Highway 6 Field in Hagersville-Caledonia, with rules being 60 Fulltime Minutes, Last Minute Clock Time Stop, Sudden Death Overtime, 25 Second Clock, Three Minute Warning for Half and End, No Full Equipment, Canuck 150 Yard Outdoor Turf and 75 Yard Indoor Gym Field, Full Above the Waist Tackle Outdoor or Smack Right Back Touch Indoor, Yankee 4 to Score with Extra Point Outdoor or Run for Two and Pass for One Indoor, No Holds Barred, 7 Man Ironball Teams,  Looseout O and Boxedin D, using Gentlemen Rules (if we can't get real striped zebras, which is near impossible for unsanctioned lotball, then goodwill faith will need to be exercised by all those on the field of play using the principles of His absolute sovereignty above) with teams eligible to play must have over 50% of its roster made up of Redeemer students (4 players of 7), in order to keep this centred on those within the campus, others from outside interested can play for teams which meet this goal.

We outdoor tackle and indoor touch football playing Redeemer U.C. Royals wish to allow this development skill league to expand into an organized university college extramural league football club soon. This club would then hopefully start as a founding member of a brand new football conference within the Ontario College Athletic Association (O.C.A.A.) and Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (C.C.A.A.) in the future!
